Gmail sull’iPhone: non eliminare le email, archiviale! (con IMAP)
Il team di Gmail, direttamente sul blog ufficiale, suggerisce un tip piuttosto utile, per gli utenti dell’iPhone: impostare l’account per archiviare le email alla pressione del tasto “elimina”, invece di spostarle nel Trash di Gmail.
La differenza? Con entrambi i metodi la mail eliminata non sarà più visibile nella inbox. Però, spostando la mail nel cestino di Gmail, questa verrà eliminata automaticamente dopo 30 giorni, mentre, archiviandola, sarà sempre a disposizione nell’etichetta “Deleted Messages”.
Per attivare l’archiviazione automatica, è sufficiente impostare IMAP, come suggerito dalla guida ufficiale “iPhone - Gmail Help”.
See, the default Gmail set up for iPhone’s built-in mail client configures things such that if you delete a message on your iPhone, it’s sent to Gmail’s Trash. That means in 30 days it’s gone forever. Sure, you can archive by clicking the “Move to” button and then selecting “All Mail,” but if you’re an archive junkie and want mail you delete on your iPhone to get archived in Gmail instead, you just have to re-do the Gmail set up on your phone.
